How to Convert WATTS to AMPS

Formula: Watts/Volts = Amps

Example 1: You have a 120 volt, 100 watt light bulb. 100/120=.83 Amps

Example 2: You have a 120 volt waffle iron that uses 1,200 watts. 1,200/120=10 Amps

Example 3: You have a 240 volt water heater that uses 3,500 watts. 3,500/240=14.583 Amps
