Here is the perfect, homemade Valentine's Day gift: a sumptuous, moist loaf of Strawberry Bread, warm from the oven and teeming with tiny bits of sweet, red fruit inside – each waiting to explode into a burst of strawberry flavor! If you are looking for Valentine's Day recipes, choose my recipe for Strawberry Bread. Unlike leavened breads, this recipe is sure-fire. It always turns out perfectly. It's one of my favorite Valentine's Day recipes – and I'm sure it will become one of yours.

This recipe for Strawberry Bread can be baked in a variety of pans, not just loaf pans. Consider a fun shape pan, like a heart-shaped baking pan for use when making a Valentine's Day gift. Or, choose a Santa Clause shaped pan for Christmas gifts. If you have a heart-shaped pan, with a little sculpturing on your part, you can easily make it look like a big strawberry. Use muffin pans to create several small gift baskets of this delicious, homemade Valentine's Day delicacy. If you want to stick to a basic loaf shape, you can use little 6" x 3" loaf pans or try the larger 9" x 5" loaf pans for a more traditional loaf. You can also use muffin pans for this recipe.

What You Will Need To Prepare Strawberry Bread:
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs, slightly beaten
2 cups frozen-sliced, strawberries, thawed
1-1/4 cups vegetable oil
1-1/4 cups pecans, chopped (optional)

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease your loaf pans. Note: this recipe will make enough for six of the small 6" x 3" loaf pans, two of the larger 9" x 5" loaf pans or 24 regular sized muffins.

Sift the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and sugar together in a large mixing bowl. In another mixing bowl, combine the eggs, strawberries, oil and nuts. Make a small well in the center of the dry ingredient's bowl. Now add the liquid mixture, stirring just enough to moisten the dry ingredients. Pour into greased loaf pans and bake for 40 minutes for the small pans, 60 minutes for the large pans or 25 minutes for muffin pans. Allow the loaves of bread to cool on a wire rack for about 15 minutes before removing from the pans to serve.

Gift wrap the loaves or muffins to enhance the presentation. Serve this bread as a dessert, or as a special treat. Butter or softened cream cheese goes great with this Valentine's Day Strawberry Bread.
