This will be the last year that 24 will be televised. This episode of 24 begins just outside the UN building where a bomb just exploded, flipping over Cole Ortiz’s (Freddie Prinze Jr.) car and damaging President Omar Hassan’s (Anil Kapoor) limo. Nobody knows if Cole or Omar are okay yet. Chief of Staff Rob Weiss (Chris Diamantopoulos), riding with President Allison Taylor (Cherry Jones) is chastising CTU Director Brian Hastings (Mykelti Williamson) for messing up security. Cole crawls from his burning car and goes to help Omar. Davros (Doug Hutchison), approaches Omar’s car with his pistol drawn, but can’t get a shot at Omar. Omar is rushed away in another vehicle. Cole calls Dana Walsh (Katee Sackhoff) and tells her he’s okay – and spots Davros as he’s speaking. Cole pursues. Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is a block away and heads towards Cole and Davros.

In another limo, Omar’s wife and daughter want to know if Omar is okay. Farhad Hassan (Akbar Kurtha) is riding with them and tells them to calm down. Farhad calls Davros, who tells him Omar survived the bomb attack. Davros tells Farhad to get out now – the authorities will soon know he helped Davros. Farhad gets out, stabs his security guard with a pen in the neck and runs.

Davros gets the drop on Cole. He tells Cole to call in and tell them the SW corner is clear. Cole hesitates. Cole pushes his com button and starts talking – but says he’s with the assassin. Davros is about to shoot him, but Jack arrives and shoots Davros dead. Jack opens his shirt and reveals tattoos on his upper body. Jack takes photos with his phone and sends them to Chloe.

Omar arrives at CTU. Hastings tells Omar that his brother, Farhad was involved in the assassination attempt. Omar asks to see Meredith Reed (Jennifer Westfeldt).

Dana tells Hastings the tattoos belong to a specific Russian group, and the FBI is sending an ex-operative who worked undercover with the group a few years ago. The agent is none other than Renee Walker (Annie Wersching).

Farhad calls Sergei Bazhaev (Jürgen Prochnow) and asks him why Omar is still alive. Farhad heads to Sergei’s for sanctuary.

Cole, Jack and Davros’ body get back to CTU. Omar thanks Cole for saving his life. Cole tells him to thank Jack and Chloe. Jack learns Renee is coming and tells Chloe not to let her know he’s around. Davros’ body sets off the radiation alarms. The doctor tells Cole weapons grade uranium (U235) set off the alarms. Omar overhears this and says he needs to talk to Hastings immediately. Omar tells Hastings that Farhad was approached by Russians with access to U235, and he believes it was the same Russians who tried to kill him today.

Renee identifies the tattoos as belonging to Red Square – a really bad bunch of people. Hastings asks Renee to go back undercover. Renee agrees. Chloe tells Jack Renee is going back under cover. Jack goes and talks with her. Jack tries to talk Renee out of it. Renee walks away.

Renee briefs CTU on the Russian mob. The man she needs to get to is Vladimir Laitanan (Callum Keith Rennie). She will go through Ziya Dakhilov (Jon Sklaroff), since nobody knows where Vladimir is. Cole will go with her, as a buyer of nuclear materials. Jack interrupts and tells Hastings he needs to accompany Renee. Hastings agrees.

Farhad arrives at Sergei’s and insists on proof that the U235 rods exist. Sergei takes him into the back of the restaurant to a storage room and shows him his son, who is dying from exposure to the rods. Farhad makes the call to get Sergei his money – it will take 5 hours to get the rods loaded onto the ship.

Jack and Renee drive to the garage where Ziya works. Kevin Wade (Clayne Crawford) calls and hassles Dana some more about her past. He tells her she needs to get back to her apartment and talk to him face to face ASAP.

Renee enters the auto place where Ziya works. Jack waits outside, but has com with Renee. Renee tells Ziya that she’ll cut him in on a major deal if he will get her to Vladimir. Ziya shows her that he’s wearing a tracking bracelet as part of his parole. Renee tells him she can remove the bracelet – guaranteed. She locks the bracelet and his arm in a vice and grabs a small power saw and cuts his thumb off. Needless to say Ziya isn’t happy. Jack hears Ziya’s screams and runs inside. Ziya is passed out on the floor. Renee tells Jack to cauterize the wound and walks away saying she’s just getting started.

TV series 24: Season 8 – Episode 3

March 16th, 2011 by | Posted in 24 - The TV Series | No Comments »

This is a detailed synopsis, as well as a commentary and review of the TV series 24: Season 8 – Episode 3, which occurs in the time frame of 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This episode of 24 was directed by Milan Cheylov. For a complete list of all the stars and directors from all 195 episodes of 24, please click here.

This will be the last year that 24 will be televised. This episode of 24 begins with Chief of Staff Rob Weiss (Chris Diamantopoulos) chastising Brian Hastings (Mykelti Williamson) for not getting any intel out of Meredith Reed (Jennifer Westfeldt). Hastings says he’ll know more when the file from Reed’s computer is decrypted. Cole Ortiz (Freddie Prinze Jr.) tells his fiancé, Dana Walsh (Katee Sackhoff), that Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is working covertly with Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and that Reed may be a decoy. Dana says no – she did the work and is sure Reed is dirty. Cole leaves to go help with UN security.

Jack arrives at the address where the cab dropped off the Russian assassin, Davros (Doug Hutchison). Jim completes the arrangements to switch schedules with Davros. Jack learns which house Davros went into from a reluctant witness. Jack goes to the house and looks in a window and sees the dead cop and his wife. Gun drawn, he kicks in the back door. A police car pulls up in front of the house and a cop starts knocking on the door calling out for Jim – the dead cop. Jack sees another cop out back and goes and points his gun at him and tells him to drop his gun – that he is working for CTU. The other cop tasers Jack from behind. The cop who tased Jack says Jack is a cop killer, not to call it in yet – and they drag Jack inside.

Hastings is given a key card taken from Reed’s things – it’s to the private residence of President Omar Hassan (Anil Kapoor) at the UN.

Dana gets a call that Kevin Wade (Clayne Crawford) is at CTU and wants to see her. Dana gets her coat and leaves – Chloe watches suspiciously. Dana talks with Kevin, who will maintain her lie IF she cooperates with him. Dana gives him her house keys and tells him he must leave tomorrow.

Hastings presses Reed about the key card – and she finally tells him Omar gave it to her. Hastings tries to contact Omar, but can’t get through. Chloe goes to Hastings and tells him she’s cutoff from Jack and needs help. Hastings says no. Chloe brings to his attention that Reed’s story of an affair with Omar proves she is innocent, but Hastings wants confirmation.

Jack is cuffed to a chair in the basement and is awakened with a bucket of cold water. The cop who tased him starts beating him and calling him cop killer. The other cop doesn’t like what’s going on. The nice cop goes upstairs.

Davros arrives at Cole’s security briefing at the UN.

Omar gets word to talk to Hastings. He takes the call and admits he’s having an affair with Reed. Chloe smiles in the background. Farhad Hassan (Akbar Kurtha) is VERY upset that Omar confessed his affair. Hastings still refuses to send Jack any backup. Chloe is angry and wants to go herself, but Hastings won’t let her.

Farhad calls Davros and tells him that the Reed frame might not work. Davros says the plan is still a go – Omar will be dead in less than an hour.

The cop is walking towards Jack to hit him and Jack stands and rams him with his head. Jack then crushes the chair against a wall and puts his legs through the cuffs. He grabs a piece of the chair and knocks the cop down again. The other cop comes down and points his gun at Jack. Jack tells him to call Chloe – the other cop wants him to kill Jack. Good cop calls the captain – Jack tells him the dead cop upstairs must be related to the assassination plot. The cop asks for the dead cop’s duty assignment.

The file from Reed’s computer is decrypted. Hastings learns that it’s the construction plans for the UN building, and the schematic for a powerful bomb. It appears the assassin will plant a bomb at a specific location and that will kill all the UN members while in session. Hastings calls a Code Red and contacts Cole at the UN and tells him to evacuate. Chloe again tells Hastings this was too easy, and may be another decoy. Hastings dismisses her. Cole tells Hastings that the building has been repeatedly searched and no bombs were there. Hastings says they missed it.

Cole goes and gets Omar and Farhad and escorts them to their assigned vehicle. Davros sits on a police motorcycle outside the UN. Davros takes out his cell and activates an explosive device. We see the bomb attached to the bottom of a manhole cover.

Omar gets to the garage and he gets into the limo – Farhad says he’ll wait for Omar’s wife and daughter. Farhad calls Davros and tells him Omar is in the third car. Farhad gets into a limo when the wife and daughter get there.

The good cop uncuffs Jack and tells him Jack was right – the dead cop did have something to do with Omar – and Mike Farmer, his replacement today, is Davros. With lots of dialog, Jack convinces Chloe and Cole that the evacuation of the UN is part of the assassin’s plan. Cole needs to stop Omar’s vehicle NOW! Cole races through vehicles to smash into Omar’s limo just as it was about to go over the manhole cover. Davros blows the device – Cole’s car is on it and is thrown through the air in flames.

TV series 24: Season 8 – Episode 2

March 15th, 2011 by | Posted in 24 - The TV Series | No Comments »

This is a detailed synopsis, as well as a commentary and review of the TV series 24: Season 8 – Episode 2, which occurs in the time frame of 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This episode of 24 was directed by Brad Turner. For a complete list of all the stars and directors from all 195 episodes of 24, please click here.

This will be the last year that 24 will be televised. This episode of 24 begins with a quick shot of the burning CTU chopper and the man who shot it with a rocket. Then it’s off to CTU where Cole Ortiz (Freddie Prinze Jr.) is calling in. He asks Brian Hastings (Mykelti Williamson) why the drones didn’t take out the missile. Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) then tells Hastings that his contact told him that someone very close to President Omar Hassan (Anil Kapoor) is helping with the assignation plot. Hasting tells Jack he must return to CTU for debriefing. Dana Walsh (Katee Sackhoff) tells Hastings she may have a lead on the traitor close to Omar. Hastings tells her to get Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub) to help her track the lead. Hastings calls Chief of Staff Rob Weiss (Chris Diamantopoulos) and updates him regarding the inside traitor. Weiss tells Hastings he better get results!

Dana’s lead pans out. The person who hacked into the UN computers and downloaded security protocols, etc. was Meredith Reed (Jennifer Westfeldt) – the reporter Omar is meeting with in less than an hour. Hastings calls UN security to tell them Reed is there and a threat. As Reed is about to reach Omar, security swarms her. Reed’s apartment is searched and the UN files are found on her laptop, but there’s one file that’s encrypted and can’t be opened yet. Chloe mentions that all this seems too easy, but she’s disregarded. Hastings tells Chloe she will debrief Jack.

Chloe shows Jack photos of Reed’s apartment entrance while she tells him she thinks Reed is being setup. One man in the photos is the man who blew up the chopper. Jack doesn’t want to get involved – Kim Bauer (Elisha Cuthbert) is coming to take him to LA.

Omar finally tells Farhad Hassan (Akbar Kurtha) that he and Reed have been having an affair. Farhad tells Omar to lie about it to the press. Farhad then calls the assassin – the man who shot down the CTU chopper. The assassin tells him he only needs another hour before he makes his move.

Dana gets a call from a young man who says she is not really Dana, she is Jenny Scott – and he knows her. She hangs up on him.

Reed gets to CTU. Hastings tells her he knows that she’s involved in Omar’s assassination plot. She is shocked and denies everything. She’s taken to interrogation and wired up. Jack then shows Hastings the photos Chloe gave him and tells him to check it out. Hasting’s blows him off. Chloe tries to convince Jack to help – but he says he can’t and goes out to join Kim. Kim tells him she talked to Chloe, and convinces Jack to stay and help.

Hastings questions Reed. Jack watches on camera and tells Chloe to hack Arlo Glass’ (John Boyd) station and get archived drone footage – to see if she can find the assassin again. Chloe sees him get into a cab and Jack has her call the cab company to find out where it went. Jack goes to the armory for weapons.

Dana sneaks of and makes a private call – telling the lady who answers that Kevin Wade (Clayne Crawford) found her and has been calling her. Arlo discovers that someone hacked his system and reports it to Dana. Dana tells him to track down who it was.

The Russian assassin gets to a house to see someone. His accent is now Brooklyn, not Russian. He asks to see Jim – to ask him a favor. As it turns out, the assassin is a cop, and so is Jim. He asks Jim to switch schedules with him. Jim can’t because of a school meeting he has. The assassin draws a gun and tells the wife to sit down and has Jim put tape on her mouth. He then tells Jim to call the captain and tell him he’s sick, and the assassin will be filling in for him. Jim says no and the wife is shot in the leg. Jim makes the call.

Dana tells Hastings that Jack and Chloe are working together. Chloe calls Jack, who is in the armory, and tells him where the cab driver dropped off the assassin. CTU guards burst into the armory and take Jack at gunpoint. Jack blackmails Hastings, who screwed up and lost the informant and two agents, and forces him to let him continue – and Chloe gets to help him.

TV series 24: Season 8 – Episode 1

March 14th, 2011 by | Posted in 24 - The TV Series | No Comments »

This is a detailed synopsis, as well as a commentary and review of the TV series 24: Season 8 – Episode 1, which occurs in the time frame of 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This episode of 24 was directed by Brad Turner. For a complete list of all the stars and directors from all 195 episodes of 24, please click here.

This is the season opener of the TV show 24. This will be the last year that 24 airs. This episode of 24 begins in New York City. A man gets out of a cab and is acquired by a sniper. The sniper can’t get a clear shot, and the man enters an apartment building. He enters and apartment and finds his friend in the tub – shot in the head. He calls another friend only to find out he’s been shot in the head also. He pulls his pistol and starts to exit the building. He steals a car and starts to drive away, but the sniper wounds him in the shoulder before he gets away.

We then go to a house where Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is with his granddaughter. Jack gets a call from Kim Bauer (Elisha Cuthbert) – she’s running late because traffic is being rerouted around the UN building.

President Allison Taylor (Cherry Jones) and Secretary of State Ethan Kanin (Bob Gunton) are discussing an historic Middle East peace agreement with President Omar Hassan (Anil Kapoor) and his brother Farhad Hassan (Akbar Kurtha).

Kim and her husband pickup their daughter from Jack. Jack tells them he’s decided to accept their offer and move to LA – to be nearer his family. He tells them he’ll meet them at the hotel in an hour and fly back with them tonight. The wounded man watches as Jack says goodbye on the street. Jack enters his building, the man follows.

At the UN, Meredith Reed (Jennifer Westfeldt) calls Omar and tells him her press credentials have been denied access to the building. Omar tells his brother to fix it. His brother cancelled them because Omar is having an affair with Reed – and he doesn’t like it.

As Jack is packing, the man, Victor, knocks on his door. Victor tells Jack that Omar is to be assassinated today – before he can sign the peace agreement. Victor tells Jack the hitman is Russian, but he won’t say anymore until he gets an immunity deal.

Agent Cole Ortiz (Freddie Prinze Jr.) arrives at the new, New York CTU headquarters. He tells Dana Walsh (Katee Sackhoff) to make some calls regarding security at the UN. We learn that Dana and Cole are engaged. Dana then helps Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub) with something on her computer, which is followed by a call from Jack. Jack wants Chloe to put him through to the Director of CTU, Brian Hastings (Mykelti Williamson). Jack tells Hastings what’s going on. They don’t get along well. Hastings tells Jack to take Victor 5 blocks to the 5th precinct and he’ll have a chopper pick them up. Hastings tells Cole, Dana and Arlo Glass (John Boyd) about Victor and Jack – Cole is to go get them – Arlo is to provide drone support. Jack starts walking to the police station with Victor.

Jack and Victor are working their way through alleys to stay hidden. Victor collapses from his wounds. Jack gives aid. A man sees Jack giving aid to a man covered in blood and calls 911.

We are introduced to Omar’s wife and daughter: Dalia Hassan (Necar Zadegan) and Kayla Hassan (Nazneen Contractor). Omar and his wife are having hard times, but daughter loves dad a lot.

Farhad goes and approves Reed’s press credentials for the UN, then tells her to stay away from Omar.

The police get to Jack and Victor and hold them at gunpoint while they verify Jack’s story. Jack tells them not to use open channels as the killers are monitoring them, but they do anyway. Then two guys show up and start shooting with machine guns. They kill both cops. Jack and Victor make it inside a building from the alley – Jack’s out of ammo – the bad guys are in pursuit. Jack calls Chloe for help, she puts him in touch with Cole – 2 minutes away. Cole tells Jack to go to the 8th floor and cross over to the parking structure, and he’ll land the chopper there. Jack hides with a fire axe and kills both pursuers. The chopper lands and Jack kicks out a window to get on the same level. Cole and his men jump from the chopper and fan out, with Cole running over to help Jack. Cole tells Jack he needs to go and get debriefed by Hastings – Jack says no and walks away. A rocket takes out the chopper – Victor is fatally wounded, but before he dies he tells Jack that the hitman has someone inside – VERY close to Omar.

Comment: 24 does something really sneaky here. To end this episode, they show Reed standing alone and talking on her cell phone – looking around as if worried someone might hear her. She says to the person she is speaking with: “yes, I know I’m behind schedule – but it will get done.” She hangs up, looks around again, and then walks towards the elevators. One can’t help but think she is the hitman’s contact who is close to Omar. The scene is designed to make you (and I) think that. But that won’t work out to be the case…

This is a detailed synopsis, as well as a commentary and review of the TV series 24: Season 7 – Episode 23, which occurs in the time frame of 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM. This episode of 24 was directed by Michael Klick. For a complete list of all the stars and directors from all 195 episodes of 24, please click here.

This episode of 24 begins at the White House. There are 3 AG and DOJ people questioning Olivia Taylor (Sprague Grayden), via teleconferencing, about Jonas Hodges’ murder.

The woman whose people have Kim Bauer (Elisha Cuthbert) under surveillance uses her com unit and tells Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) he must help Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) escape from the FBI convoy very soon, or he’ll lose his window and Kim will die.

At the airport where Kim is being closely watched by a male and female hostile, the man has to move his computer to make seating room. Kim is no longer on camera. Kim notices the man’s neck is cut – where the FBI agent he killed earlier scratched him.

Jack pulls his pistol and holds Renee Walker (Annie Wersching) and the other guard at gunpoint. Jack makes the driver pull the van off the highway and away from the two escort vehicles. The chopper calls and asks what’s wrong. Jack doesn’t answer. Janis Gold (Janeane Garofalo) tries reaching Renee, and can’t. The van pulls under a long underpass. Tony cuffs the man and Jack cuffs Renee – and whispers to her to save Kim at the airport. Tony cuffs Jack and takes him along to get into his female accomplice’s waiting SUV. Tony tells the woman that Jack’s blood can be used to build more of the bio-weapon, since he’s infected.

Secret Service agent Aaron Pierce (Glenn Morshower) greets ex- Chief of Staff Ethan Kanin (Bob Gunton) at the White House. Pierce tells Kanin he suspects Olivia of murdering Hodges, but he needs Kanin to use his thumbprint to access the secret digital recorder files in his old office to prove it. Kanin agrees to help and goes into the office, pulls a picture and opens the recorder and gets the memory chip out, just as Olivia is returning to the office. Olivia catches Kanin in the office, but after checking the files he says he came for, she lets him leave. Olivia calls Pierce in to lecture him for letting Kanin in and she sees that Kanin did not replace the picture correctly. She discovers the digital recording equipment and calls security to have Kanin detained. Kanin is detained.

Renee calls Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and tells her to have Kim paged to her gate. Renee explains the situation to Kim when she gets to the phone. Kim figures out the man and the woman she’s with are the hostiles. Kim goes back and sits down, but the man realizes security is onto them. He stands up and starts shooting and tells the woman to kill Kim. Kim gets away from the woman, who is shot and the man runs away wounded. Kim calls Renee to fill her in, but her phone dies so she starts chasing the escaping man.

Olivia meets with Kanin and tells him to give her the recording back. Kanin doesn’t cooperate so she has an agent come in and search him – he finds a chip and hands it to Olivia. Olivia destroys the chip and releases Kanin. Pierce meets Kanin down the hall and escorts him out – and hands him the real chip.

Tony arrives at an abandon warehouse where some lab equipment is setup. Jack is put on a table on his stomach so the tech can take spinal fluid. Tony tells the woman, Carla, to contact the big boss and get Tony a meeting – he wants a promotion. She says the man won’t meet people. Tony tells her to convince him – he’s earned it today.

Renee and the FBI get to the airport and can’t find Kim, who is following the wounded bad guy. Kim tells an airport guard to call Renee and tell her the man is in the parking area. The man tries to drive out, but is shot and his car flips over. Kim goes to the burning car to retrieve the computer. Renee arrives and Kim gives her the computer to find out where the camera signal was being sent.

Kanin gets into his car and puts the chip into a player. Kanin now knows Olivia is responsible for Hodges’ murder.

Tony tells the lab techs to get Jack ready to move. Carla talks to her boss, Alan Wilson (Will Patton). He agrees to meet Tony – in about 30 minutes. The tech release Jack, except for his cuffs, to move him, but Jack jumps up, grabs a scalpel and kills all 3 of them. He’s in bad shape, but flees the plastic room and exits a fire door, sounding an alarm. Tony discovers the dead lab techs. He and Carla take off after Jack.

TV series 24: Season 7 – Episode 22

March 9th, 2011 by | Posted in 24 - The TV Series | No Comments »

This is a detailed synopsis, as well as a commentary and review of the TV series 24: Season 7 – Episode 22, which occurs in the time frame of 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM. This episode of 24 was directed by Michael Klick. For a complete list of all the stars and directors from all 195 episodes of 24, please click here.

This episode of 24 begins with Tony’s female accomplice telling her boss, Alan Wilson (Will Patton), that the gas canister is being refitted for maximum dispersal of the gas. It will be placed into the subway system soon. Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) puts a device into Jibraan Al-Zarian’s (Omid Abtahi) ear for tracking and communicating. Tony tells Jibraan he is to get on the redline to Washington center and await further instructions or his brother, Hamid Al-Zarian (Rafi Gavron) will be killed. Jibraan leaves the van for the subway. Tony’s female accomplice puts the gas canister into a bag and leaves for the subway.

Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) won’t let the medics give the wounded hostile any morphine. He questions him in front of Renee Walker (Annie Wersching), adding pressure to the man’s wound to induce more pain. The hostile says he doesn’t know where Tony is or what the target is. The hostile has a phone number for Tony. Jack gets Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub) to prepare a trace. The call is placed, but Tony has something on his phone so his exact location can’t be traced. Chloe tells Jack the area he’s in, and he and Renee head there.

Jibraan gets to the ticket counter and removes his earpiece and tries to get the clerk to call the police. The clerk calls over a transit cop. The cop works for Tony and tells Jibraan to replace his earpiece and get on the subway. Jibraan boards the train.

Secret Service agent Aaron Pierce (Glenn Morshower) calls Olivia Taylor (Sprague Grayden) and asks her why she’s not where she said she’d be. The DOJ wants to question her about Hodges, since she was one of 11 people who knew he was alive. She says she’ll be back in 10 minutes. Olivia meets with Martin Collier (Leland Orser) – who tells her that he approved the killing of Hodges for her. She’s concerned about her phone and computer records. Collier tells her to transfer the funds as she agreed, or the hitman will seek her out.

Kim Bauer (Elisha Cuthbert) calls her husband from the airport – her flight’s been delayed 1-2 hours. Kim’s cell phone battery dies and she notices a man is following her. She sits down in the terminal.

Tony’s accomplice is on the same train as Jibraan. She sets the gas canister bomb timer for 15:00 minutes, hides the bag under a seat and gets off the train. She calls and tells Tony.

Jack and Renee get to Tony’s area and Chloe gives jack specific location data: Tony is right in front of them in a van. Jack rams the van and wrecks it – cops pull up quickly. Jack pulls Tony from the van and puts him to sleep. Jack hands Renee Tony’s PDA, which is damaged, and tells her to get its data to Chloe ASAP. Chloe can’t get anything, but Janis Gold (Janeane Garofalo) says she can.

Tony wakes up and jack gets him alone. Jack starts beating Tony and asking where the canister is – Tony says nothing. Jack pulls his gun and threatens his life.

Janis gets the data working and can trace Jibraan. Jack and Renee head for Washington Center – the target. Jack has Janis hook him into Jibraan’s com unit. Jack tells Jibraan to search the train for a bag or suitcase. Jibraan finds the bag with the canister. Jack has him open it. The timer reads 1:18 – Jibraan tells Jack. Jack tells him to take the bag and run up to the street to meet him. Jibraan leaves running, knocking people down – and is stopped by a transit cop. He shows the bomb and tells everyone to move away – they do and he continues running to the street. Jack meets him and runs the canister to a hazmat containment truck. The canister goes off, but the gas is contained. Jack’s symptoms get much worse.

At the airport, Kim notices the man following her is still nearby, and so she sits down next to a man and wife couple for security. As it turns out, the man following Kim is doing so for Jack.

This episode of 24 begins at the apartment of Jibraan Al-Zarian (Omid Abtahi) and Hamid Al-Zarian (Rafi Gavron). Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) finishes tying up Hamid and then his female accomplice tells him she needs 15 more minutes to place the false records, making Jibraan appear to be a terrorist, into Jibraan’s computer. Tony tells Jibraan that he’ll kill Hamid if Jibraan doesn’t do exactly as he’s told. Tony hands him a statement to read on camera.

At FBI headquarters, Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub), Renee Walker (Annie Wersching) and Janis Gold (Janeane Garofalo) are doing computers searches to find a likely bomber candidate. Chloe tells Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) they’re not having any luck. Jack’s health is failing, as is his memory. Chloe learns that Jack is dying from exposure to the gas and she cries.

While Jibraan finishes reading the statement in front of a video camera, two policemen arrive as a result of a disturbance call. Tony makes Jibraan get rid of the police.

Chloe finds the computer tracks being laid by Tony’s people and tells Jack. Jack and Renee go to the home of Muhtadi Gohar (Ravi Kapoor), someone who knows where Jibraan lives.

Martin Collier (Leland Orser) meets with Olivia Taylor (Sprague Grayden). Olivia tells him that she wants Jonas Hodges (Jon Voight) dead. Collier tries to talk her out of it, but she won’t change her mind. Collier says he’ll get her the contact, the cost and the payment instructions – the rest is up to her. Meanwhile, Hodges is given his new papers by a US Marshall – he’ll be leaving for the witness protection offices in a short time.

Jack and Renee arrive at Muhtadi’s mosque and ask him about Jibraan. Muhtadi says he knows him, but he’s not a terrorist. He also says he doesn’t know where he lives. Renee gets a call from Janis. Janis tells her that a Metro PD cop recognized Jibraan’s name from a disturbance complaint, and gives her the address of Jibraan. Jack cuffs Muhtadi and brings him along to Jibraan’s.

Tony wakes Hamid and makes Jibraan tell him that he is a terrorist – so that he’ll tell the police that later. Tony leaves one man to guard Hamid and everyone else leaves with Jibraan.

Olivia gets the call from the hitman. He’ll take the job as soon as the $250,000 is deposited to his account. Olivia starts the transfer, but can’t finish it and calls Collier to cancel the contract. Chloe calls Jack and tells him that the data she found on Jibraan was falsified. Jack realizes that Jibraan is an innocent and uncuffs Muhtadi.

The Marshal wheels Hodges out of the hospital and puts him in an SUV. The Marshal goes to sign the papers and the SUV explodes.

Head of Homeland Security, Tim Woods (Frank John Hughes) tells President Allison Taylor (Cherry Jones) and Olivia that Hodges has been killed. Olivia gets a call and leaves the room. Woods tells Taylor the killing was an inside job – the killer knew Hodges’ schedule. Olivia talks to Collier – she’s a mess. Collier tells her to stop talking about it on the phone. Collier tells her to meet him in the park as soon as she can get away. Her guard, Secret Service agent Aaron Pierce (Glenn Morshower), is suspicious.

Jack and Renee get to Jibraan’s where the police have setup. They have a camera in the apartment and know there is one hostile and a hostage. Jack leads the assault team into the apartment so that the hostile is taken alive. They rush in and the hostile looks to the door – Hamid breaks a photo frame, grabs a piece of glass and cuts the hostile’s throat. Medics rush in.

This episode of 24 was directed by Michael Klick. For a complete list of all the stars and directors from all 195 episodes of 24, please click here.

This episode of 24 begins at the building Tony Almeida’s (Carlos Bernard) accomplice, Galvez, bombed. Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is getting an injection to help him overcome the symptoms of the weaponized gas he was exposed to. Jack can’t speak well, but mutters to Renee Walker (Annie Wersching) “stop Tony.” Renee puts a bulletin out as Tony shoots 2 more FBI agents and takes their vehicle.

Tony arrives at the motel where Galvez is hiding out. Tony pays him, Galvez hands him the canister’s bag, but he’s removed the canister. He pulls a gun on Tony and asks who the buyer is – so he can sell it to him and take the money. Tony overcomes him and starts torturing him to find out where the canister is.

Head of Homeland Security, Tim Woods (Frank John Hughes) tells President Allison Taylor (Cherry Jones) that Jonas Hodges (Jon Voight) tried to kill himself, but they were able to revive him. Jack calls Taylor and tells her that Tony is dirty – and loose with the gas canister. Taylor tells Jack that Hodges is alive. Jack wants to talk to Hodges.

The woman who impersonated Hodges’ lawyer gets to Tony’s motel room – he now has the gas canister. She says they need to deliver it – Tony says no. Tony wants to use the gas now. The woman says she’ll contact the bosses.

Taylor tells her daughter, Olivia Taylor (Sprague Grayden), to contact the AG and get a witness protection document ready for Hodges. Olivia doesn’t like the idea because Hodges was responsible for her brother’s death. They argue. Mom wins.

Tony’s female accomplice explains Tony’s plan to her bosses. The gas will be used during rush hour and the attack will be blamed on an innocent: Jibraan Al-Zarian (Omid Abtahi). We learn that Alan Wilson (Will Patton) is the big boss, and that Tony and the woman are “involved.” The mission is a go.

Jack goes into Hodges’ hospital room. He tells Hodges he’ll maintain his death publicly and protect him and his family – if he’ll tell who he’s been working with. Hodges starts talking, but he doesn’t know anyone’s name. He says Tony’s accomplice was the go-between. Taylor agrees to restart the old CTU computers to gather information and puts Jack in charge. Jack calls and wakes Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub). Chloe will go to FBI and access the old CTU servers.

Jack holds a meeting at the FBI. He tells the staff to look for the person who will be framed for the bio-weapon attack – based on the information he got from Hodges. Chloe arrives and Jack tells her that Tony is dirty.

Tony and his accomplice arrive at the apartment of Al-Zarian and his younger brother. Two more men arrive to help Tony.

Olivia calls Martin Collier (Leland Orser) and asks him to meet with her. He will be at the White House in 15 minutes.

Janis Gold (Janeane Garofalo) doesn’t like Chloe’s intervention, nor does she like “spying” on Americans. Jack jumps her hard in front of everyone. She backs down immediately. Jack is not doing well physically.

Tony and his people take Al-Zarian and his brother captive in their apartment.

TV series 24: Season 7 – Episode 19

This is a detailed synopsis, as well as a commentary and review of the TV series 24: Season 7 – Episode 19, which occurs in the time frame of 2:00 AM to 3:00 AM. This episode of 24 was directed by Michael Klick. For a complete list of all the stars and directors from all 195 episodes of 24, please click here.

This episode of 24 begins at the home of Jonas Hodges’ (Jon Voight) lawyer. The lawyer gets a call and tells the caller she’s on the way to the White House to meet with her client. She walks to the door to leave and is gassed and then injected. A woman, who looks very much like the lawyer, takes her ID, glasses, etc.

At FBI, Renee Walker (Annie Wersching) shows Janis Gold (Janeane Garofalo) satellite ID and photos of the man leaving Starkwood with the weapon. Janis tells Renee that Larry Moss (Jeffrey Nordling) is not answering his com.

Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) takes Moss’ gun, loads it and shoots himself in the side. Tony gets a call from the man with the weapon – Tony tells him to stay hidden until he locates the FBI agents that are searching for him. The FBI gets to Tony and Moss’ body. Renee learns that Moss is dead. Renee is now the ranking agent. She’s going to search for Tony’s accomplice, Galvez. As she boards the chopper, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) joins her.

Tony calls Galvez and tells him a safe place to escape, and wants him to blow up a building as a distraction.

Hodges’ fake attorney gets to the White House and through security. She works for the people who hired Starkwood to develop the bio-weapon – and they’re not happy that Hodges wanted to use it for personal gain. They are also worried he’ll talk. She tells him that if he’ll kill himself, his family will be taken care of and hands him a pill. Guards then arrive to take Hodges to the FBI for interrogation. The lawyer calls her boss, who is also Tony’s boss and fills him in.

Galvez sets explosive charges in the next building the FBI will be searching.

Renee and Jack arrive where Tony is. The FBI is all setup there, too – computers, vehicles, men… Renee asks Tony how her friend Moss was killed. Tony explains. Jack listens and has questions. Jack thinks there was a second man with Galvez when he attacked Tony and Moss. Things just don’t add up.

Galvez kills an agent and uses his radio to tell all the agents to come to the building he just wired with explosives. Jack tells Renee to watch her back – and he stays at the command center.

On the way to the FBI, Hodges takes his suicide pill.

Jack gets a call telling him there’s a discrepancy in his story and Tony’s. Jack has a tech do a locate on all the agent’s transmitters. Jack sees that the transmitter Galvez is using is not near the building and calls Renee and tells them to get out – it’s a trap. The agents start running from the building as it blows up. Jack takes over command. In the confusion of the explosion, Galvez uses the FBI jacket and ID tag to blend in. Jack and Tony get to the building. Tony meets Galvez and gets the canister. Jack finds Renee. Jack starts leading Renee out of the building. Jack realizes someone was helping Galvez. He tells Renee he’ll meet her back at the vehicle and he runs off.

Galvez wipes blood on his face and Tony pretends to help the wounded ‘agent’ from the building. Jack calls the man who told him about the discrepancies between he and Tony’s stories. Jack realizes that Tony is the traitor and goes to talk to him. Tony puts Galvez into an ambulance with the canister and it leaves. Jack pulls a gun on Tony and starts talking/questioning. Jack becomes unstable and collapses. Tony takes his gun and shows him that he has the injections Jack needs. Medics come to help Jack with his seizure. Tony walks away. Galvez takes control of the ambulance he’s in.
